Founded by Peter Ross and now led by his son, Justin Ross, our third-generation, family-owned business has grown from its roots in Western Canada into an international leader in construction, roofing, and waterproofing.
With over 80 years of combined management experience, we have completed more than 500 projects, including high-profile developments like the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Village and most recently one of North America's biggest retail and residential construction sites, the mega build Oakridge Centre with a total planned size of five million square feet, and a cost of around $6.5 billion when construction is set to fully wrap up in 2029.
Our diverse portfolio of companies, including Pacific Waterproofing Ltd., Universal Polymers, WeatherSeal Construction, Peter Ross Roofing, and Pure Wood Studio, allows us to deliver comprehensive, innovative solutions for multi-family residential and commercial projects across North America and Australia.
A Tribute to Peter Ross
The story of the Peter Ross Group is, at its heart, the story of Peter Ross himself.
Following the Second World War, Peter Ros and his family immigrated from Italy to Australia. Like many immigrant families of the era, their surname was anglicized from Ros to Ross, reflecting a common practice at the time as families adapted to life in a new country. Years later, Peter carried that legacy of perseverance to Canada, where he laid the foundation for what would become the Peter Ross Group. Bringing his expertise and unyielding work ethic he laid the foundation for our company in Burnaby, British Columbia. From those early days, Peter built his business on a reputation for integrity, quality, and resilience.
Peter believed in a simple but powerful formula for success: "You stand behind what you put down." This philosophy became the cornerstone of the Peter Ross Group. He understood that true success in the construction industry wasn't about cutting corners or underbidding to win jobs; it was about delivering exceptional workmanship that stood the test of time.
His big break came in the 80's, when some of the region's most prominent developers and builders began to lean on Peter for waterproofing across their upcoming developments.
From there, the scope of work increased. Under his leadership, the company grew to encompass multiple divisions and take on major projects throughout Western North America, all while maintaining the personal touch of a family-owned business.
Today, the Peter Ross Group is proudly led by Peter's son, Justin Ross, marking the third generation of the family's involvement in the industry.
And while the company has expanded significantly, embracing new technologies, sustainable materials, and international markets, the core values instilled by Peter remain unchanged. We continue to honor his legacy by upholding the standards he set, ensuring that every project we undertake reflects the dedication and quality that Peter Ross championed throughout his life.
